I reckon it's an Eastern Brown, based on colour, size, pattern (albeit very slight) and head shape, which is more elongate, with a more pointed snout than that of a Tiger.

The head scales also indicate Pseudechis porphyriacus, rather than Pseudonaja textilis, in particular the frontal scale which is more elongate in the latter.

Looks most like and most likely to be Drysdalia coronoides at that altitude*. I can see the head and it lacks the black cap and nape of a juvenile Eastern Brown, but has the characteristic, continuous white upper lip stripe of D. coronoides.

Austrelaps ramsayi is not found in Tasmania. The only species of copperhead (Austrelaps) found in Tasmania is Austrelaps superbus.

It looks like the skink in the tub may have been regurgitated after the snake was put in the storage container.
